BDO strengthens Financial Services

26 January 2016

Acquisition of services from FinOps, Zurich

BDO will be acquiring the Risk Management & Investment Compliance services division of FinOps in Zurich from 1 April 2016. The acquisition includes the operating business and the brand. The employees of FinOps' services division are transferring to BDO. With this acquisition, BDO is further reinforcing its position on the market in the field of financial services.

Thomas Thüler, COO and founding partner of FinOps, said, “The sale of the Risk Management & Investment Compliance division to BDO allows its full market potential to be exploited and its services to be developed further in the long term in a professional setting. This will also benefit FinOps' existing clients.” Thomas Thüler will be in charge of Managed Services at BDO Financial Services.

Expansion of the service portfolio

The Financial Services division was reorganised at the start of 2015, paving the way for further growth. Around 70 experts work at offices in Zurich, Geneva, Lausanne and Lugano. There is above-average growth in the demand for the services offered by Financial Services. According to Jörg Auf der Maur, Head of Financial Services, “By acquiring the Risk Management & Investment Compliance division we are making a targeted addition to the range of services we offer. We can provide additional support to our clients, in particular in connection with Regulatory & Compliance services.”
