BDO is reorganising its Financial Services and creating a single division covering the whole of Switzerland. The Internal Audit, External Audit and Financial Service Provider Advisory divisions are being merged. The Financial Services Manager is Jörg Auf der Maur.
The demands placed on the internal and external audit of financial service providers have increased over recent years. Advisory is also more complex than ever now. BDO is thus combining the former Financial Services units in German-speaking Switzerland and Western Switzerland into a single division covering the whole of Switzerland. This gives rise to three large teams for internal audit, external audit and advisory. BDO's Jörg Auf der Maur: "By using supraregional synergies and competencies we will be able to act with even greater strength on the market and achieve our high growth targets more rapidly".
Jörg Auf der Maur will take over the running of Financial Services. A chartered accountant, he managed audits of subsidiary banks for a major Swiss bank in Zurich and New York for many years. Before moving to BDO, Jörg Auf der Maur was CEO of an international private banking group.
The new organisation and management will lay the foundations for further growth. Sixty experts currently work in the Financial Services division at the Geneva, Lausanne, Lugano and Zurich offices. Demand for BDO's Financial Services is growing by double-digit percentages year-on-year.
BDO is one of the few audit companies recognised by the Swiss Financial Market Authority FINMA as an auditor of financial service providers. BDO also advises banks, securities traders, insurance companies and other financial services providers on legal issues.
