Rudolf Vogt new Chairman of BDO's Board of Directors

In Rudolf Vogt, the Board of Directors of BDO Ltd will have a versatile new Chairman. He has worked for the auditing, accounting and consulting firm for 24 years and knows the company from top to bottom. After graduating from the University of Berne with a degree in Law and being admitted as an advocate in 1987, he joined BDO's Solothurn office as a management consultant. He subsequently also qualified as a fiduciary expert and moved to the Aarau office.

From 1996 to 2006 he ran the office in Aarau, before becoming Head of Region, North-West Switzerland. Also in 1996, he took over as Head of BDO's Legal Advice division for the whole of Switzerland and became a Member of Senior Management. He has been a Partner at the firm since 2000, and in April 2011 was elected President of the Partnership. It is in this capacity that he now takes over as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Rudolf Vogt specialises in corporate restructurings and in succession and bankruptcy mandates. He offers expert opinions in matters of law and business management, coaches directors and senior managers and advises public authorities.

Otto Wyss, whose term as President of the Swiss Institute of Certified Accountants and Tax Consultants also finishes at the end of October 2011, is stepping down after eight years as Chairman of BDO's Board of Directors in view of his upcoming retirement. During his time as Chairman, BDO expanded its number of offices across Switzerland to 31, employing over 800 staff. As a result, the firm has the most extensive branch network in the sector.
